PERFORMANCE WRITING
My plays and performance texts have explored themes ranging from social justice and equality to mental health and sexuality. Each seeks to achieve a common goal: to provoke meaningful debate.
These works also often include physical action, audience immersion and song.

A humorous and touching theatre piece, accessible to all ages, Jeff tells us a crucial story that we need to hear.
Tom is stranded on an iceberg with Jeff. Jeff is either a polar bear or a penguin...or a disgruntled and over-worked actor. Join them as they resolve their far-fetched scenario and journey back to the safety of land. Jeff opens and supports a conversation around men and mental health, confronting taboos that prevent a healthy, public dialogue. |
"...that was an amazing piece of theatre. I don’t think I’ve been impacted so much by a piece – it was so moving! Not only were they superb actors, but the approachability of the story and poetic nature of the words was brilliant."

The Imperfect Is Our ParadiseA multi-form solo performance piece about cheese and the economy.
There is a moment half an hour or so later, when my nose has readjusted, that I smell the cheese. In collaboration with artisan cheesemaker 'Cambus O'May', this work explored the notion of a gift-based economy and asked whether we have forgotten what a healthy debt is, how generosity can bond a community and whether artisan products really taste better... The writer Hillary Nicholls joined me for part of this journey and wrote a fantastic article on the work and its context; download it here:
